INSTALLATION
Type X™ Pro Plus Bracket Install
Offer the lights bracket into the position dropping the nuts through into your mounting platform. Achieving this next step is a little tricky but you will want to slip the washer, spring washer, and finally, the nut onto these bolts and secure tightly.
Type X™ Pro Plus Bezel Install
Align the bezel on the light by matching the single ridge at the top and the two ridges at the bottom with those on the back of the bezel. Loosely thread each bolt using the M3 allen key in a cross pattern (opposite bolts) to ensure even tightening. use the diagram above as a guide when tightening the bolts.
Type X™ Pro Plus Cover Install
STEDI™ has designed the covers to be firm fitting. The following dictates the correct way to install the covers. Incorrect fitment may cause damage to the covers. Start by aligning the tabs on the bottom of the cover with the respective locators in the light housing. Once these are in place, press firmly down on the top of the cover until it clicks into place. Removal of the cover is as easy as placing your thumb on the top tab, pushing down on the tab, and pulling out towards you.
Type X™ Pro Plus Shoulder Install
Align the locator clips on the back of the shoulder plate with the corresponding tabs on the light. Carefully position the shoulder plate to ensure proper engagement with the tabs. Press firmly until you hear a distinct snap, indicating that the shoulder plate is securely fastened in place.
Please Note: The above install for the Shoulder Plates applies to both the Modern and Rugged Shoulder trim styles. When the Modern trim is installed, this covers all side bolts.
MOUNTING TO THE VEHICLE
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- All three M10 bolts must be used to mount the base of the U-Bracket to your vehicle. It is highly recommended that all the supplied hardware is used for the correct fitment of light.
- Before fitting stainless steel hardware, we recommend applying a small amount of anti-seize to the threads of any mounting bolts.
Installation is best described within the following diagrams.
Begin by setting the light in the desired mounting position on the vehicle and roughly aiming the light within the bracket. Keep in mind that you will need to venture out at night along a straight flat road to properly align the light.
Ensure you consider the mounting position of your light as the base bracket holes will not suit all bull bar variants.
Depending on the install position and the available room to work with, some users may want to tighten down the position whilst access to the bolts is still accessible, however before you lock in the position, drop in the required amount of M10 bolts through the base of the bracket as certain aiming positions will obscure access to these holes.
Wiring:
Wiring Guide Pro Plus DRL
Wiring this feature of the light is OPTIONAL and does not affect the brightness of the lights at night.
1. To power the additional DRL Feature on the Type-X™ Pro Plus Driving Lights, you will need to identify the vehicles constant power source circuit in the vehicle you intend the DRL to be powered from.
2. Once you have identified your constant power wire, attach the blue DRL Hi wire to it. This will allow the high brightness DRL mode to illuminate when this circuit is "live" (powered on).
3. If you wish the DRL to be able to swap to a Low brightness setting, connect the white DRL Lo wire to your Vehicle’s power circuit that you wish the low beam mode to override the high beam active setting on.
Please Note: if you only wish the low DRL mode to work, the DRL high wire does not need to be attach.
Please Note: if you do not want the DRL low function to work you do not need to attach the DRL low wire.
It may also be work checking with your local state regulations to confirm legalities of installation.
