Depending on your vehicle you will either be installing one of our Vehicle Specific High-Beam Adapters or a generic High Beam Adaptor (H1, H4, H11 etc...) however the wiring setup follows the same principle. The diagrams below outline an overview of the electrical circuits:
Before you begin the installation, make sure you have the necessary tools and materials:
- STEDI High-Beam Piggy Back Adapter kit
- STEDI Smar Harness
- Zip ties
- Scissors or wire cutters
- Vehicle owner's manual
Step 1: Familiarise Yourself with the Vehicle's High-Beam Circuit Consult your vehicle owner's manual to locate the high-beam circuit and identify the appropriate wires. In most cases, the high-beam harness. In many cases this will simply be a standardised harness that plugs into your vehicle's headlight assembly, however in some cases the plug will be a proprietary plug specific to your vehicle's make and model.
Step 2: Disconnect the Negative Terminal of the Battery To ensure safety during the installation process, disconnect the negative terminal of the vehicle's battery. This will prevent any accidental electrical surges while working on the wiring.
Step 3: Locate the High-Beam Wiring Harness Identify the high-beam wiring harness in your vehicle. This may be located behind the headlight assembly or in the engine bay, depending on the make and model of your vehicle.
Step 4: Install the STEDI High-Beam Piggy Back Adapter
- Unplug your vehicle's high-beam power plug or headlight wiring harness from behind your vehicle's headlight assembly.
Plug your STEDI piggy-back adapter into the headlight's input.
- Plug and the power supply that you unplugged in step 1 into the other end of the piggy back adator.
Connect your STEDI Smart Wiring Harness into the piggy-back adapter using via the T Connector.
Secure all connections with electrical tape or heat shrink tubing and zip tie them to a provision to protect them from moisture and vibrations.
Step 5: Test the Installation Before finalising the installation, reconnect the negative terminal of the battery and test the new high-beam circuit. Turn on your vehicle's high-beam lights and verify that the additional lights connected through the piggyback adapter are functioning correctly.
Step 6: Secure Wiring and Clean Up Ensure all wires and connections are neatly routed and secured using zip ties or cable clamps. This will prevent any loose wires from getting tangled or damaged while driving.
Step 7: Final Checks Double-check all connections and make sure everything is properly secured. Verify that the high-beam circuit is working as intended and that the additional lights are functioning correctly.
