The Ford Ranger is one of the most popular vehicles we see through the showroom and online.
A number of owners have optioned them with a genuine Ford nudge bar with the incorporated parking sensors from new. It is a fantastic looking nudge bar, however, causes some fitment issues. The nudge bar is very close to the bumper, often barely allowing fingers to fit in between, let alone, allowing a large ‘tab’ style bracket and light to sufficiently fit.
After much trial and error over the past couple of years, we have nailed a sleek fitment.
A light approximately 28" in length is best suited due to the available room between the nudge bar and the plastic bumper. As the nudge bar curves around from the centreline of the vehicle, the gap between the nudge and bumper increase. This gap increases enough to allow fitment of our VICE brackets. Every nudge bar fitment is different, so if you find your nudge bar sits a little too close to the bumper to allow fitting the brackets, you may need to loosen the nudge bar from the chassis brackets and pull it forward before re-tightening.
The 28" bar is long enough for the brackets to sufficiently fit, however, is short enough for the bracket to mount on the horizontal tube prior to the curve tangent.
Required items are as follows. We have two types of 28" lightbar that will perfectly suit. Only one needs to be chosen.
- ST4k 52 LED 28” lightbar
- ST3303 PRO 28.2" lightbar
- Ford Ranger piggyback adapter
- 75-77mm VICE style brackets
