1. Preparation:
Gather all necessary tools—basic hand tools such as spanners, allen-keys, and a screwdriver. Lay out the supplied parts: two main mounting brackets, light supports, bracing washers, and all fasteners.
Note: Installation should take about an hour, so plan accordingly. Always work safely and ensure the vehicle is turned off during installation. Organize all clips and fasteners during removal to avoid losing any.
2. Remove Radiator Covers:
Use a trim tool or small screwdriver to pop up the clips and remove the covers from the top of the radiator.
Note: Keep all clips and fasteners organised.
3. Remove the Grille (Recommended):
Although it is possible to install without removing the grille, removing it makes bolt access and light alignment much easier. Start by removing the small clips on top, then the three clips holding each side. Use your hand to support the grille as you pull it forward.
Note: Removing the grille is strongly recommended for easier access and alignment.
4. Disconnect Front Camera:
Unclip the electrical connection for the camera by lifting the tab underneath and pulling out the clip.
Note: Double-check the camera’s electrical connection when reinstalling the grille. Handle electrical connections carefully.
5. Remove Horns:
Take off the horns by unplugging them and pressing the tabs at the back. These mounting points will be reused for the brackets.
Note: Replacement fasteners are provided in the kit. Keep removed components for reinstallation.
6. Identify Mounting Points for Brackets
Locate the holes where the horns were mounted, as well as the additional large diameter holes for the new brackets.
Note: Check the image below shown for the mounting points with the orange circles.
7. Install Main Mounting Brackets
Use the original horn bolt for the top of each bracket. For the lower mounts, use the supplied fasteners, bolts, nuts, and washers.
Place the large washers behind the large diameter holes, and ensure the plate sits horizontally at the back.
Note: Do not fully tighten any bolts until you have all fasteners are fitted.
8. Repeat Bracket Installation on Other Side
Install the bracket on the opposite side following the same process.
9. Reinstall Horns with Supplied Fasteners
Use the replacement fasteners to reinstall the horns, ensuring they are positioned to provide maximum room for the lights.
Note: Make sure the horns do not interfere with the light supports or grille.
10. Attach Light Supports and Lighting
Mount the light shelves/brackets. Adjust the shelf height to suit your chosen lighting (light bar or spotlights). Use the provided fasteners, and test-fit the grille to confirm the correct height before final tightening.
Note: Test-fit the grille before tightening to ensure optimal fit and appearance. Your installed lights must comply with local vehicle lighting regulations.
11. Final Assembly and Check
Once the lights are positioned, tighten all fasteners, run your wiring looms, reconnect the camera, reinstall the grille, and put the radiator covers back on. Double-check all connections and fasteners.
